ICEsoft Closes 2003 with Ten Million Units Deployed
Customer preference grows for ICEsoft Java Platforms to solve Web Java Client challenges

CALGARY, Alberta – February 2, 2004 – ICEsoft Technologies Inc., the leading provider of Java browser and Java Web access software, today announced that it closed 2003 with 10,000,000 units of ICEsoft products installed with customers. A broad base of companies is turning to ICEsoft technology as the client–side solution for their Java-based enterprise applications and web services.

ICEsoft technology solved web-client problems for companies from a wide range of vertical markets in 2003. Two customer applications where ICEsoft saw particular adoption were retail/point of sale (POS) terminals and network management software. Both IBM and Triversity chose to bundle ICEbrowser® into their POS terminals. Together with Java WebStart, this small footprint application demanded centralized code management and web–client control for a consistent and reliable end-user experience. ICEbrowser allowed each to incorporate online web-based rendering features to further differentiate their POS terminals.

In the area of network management, both Cisco and Nokia solved challenges with heterogenous computing environments and the support of legacy Microsoft Internet Explorer content by incorporating ICEreader® into the client side of their applications. Both Cisco and Nokia cited the growing increase in client-side heterogeneity led by Linux penetration and projections for non-desktop devices as further reasons for adopting “future proofed” Java client solutions.

During the past quarter, ICEsoft saw increasing acceptance from key vertical markets including IT, IDE/software tools, retail, health care, financial and military/aerospace. Cisco, BEA, The Gap, PharmaPartners, TD Bank, Boeing and NASA/MER are a few of the organizations that invested in ICEsoft software in 2003.
