Peter Garrett Joins the Board of ICEsoft Technologies
Veteran Executive Lends Extensive Technology Expertise to ICEsoft Board

CALGARY, Alberta.—April 12, 2004—ICEsoft Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of Java browser and Java Web access software, today announced that Peter Garrett has joined its Board of Directors. Garrett brings valuable technology, management and corporate governance expertise to ICEsoft’s board, coming from executive roles with Global Thermoelectric Inc. and Nortel Wireless.

Garrett's career at Nortel Networks spanned 21 years. For four years he was Vice President of Wireless Product Development. In this role Pete had global responsibility for development of Nortel’s second and third generation of North American standard wireless products, and managed a group of 1200 engineers and scientists in seven labs on four continents. Most recently, he was president and chief executive officer of Global Thermoelectric Inc. Pete drove the successful merger of Global with FuelCell Energy Inc creating over $100M in new value for shareholders. Before assuming the president role, Pete served as chief operating officer of Global, where he restructured and streamlined Global’s world-leading fuel cell technology development program for accelerated results branding.

Pete is an expert at commercializing new technology. He has consulted with many companies and organizations, and has served on numerous boards and advisory committees. He is a member of the Board of Management of the Alberta Science and Research Authority, which invests $100M in technology research and development annually for the Government of Alberta. On the ASRA Board, Pete chairs the Innovation Task Force and co-chairs the Access to Capital Task Force. He is also a member of the board of the Calgary Center for Innovative Technology (CCIT) at the University of Calgary, and sits on the Internal Review Committee of iCore, an IT research organization. He is an Electrical Engineer, having graduated with distinction from the University of Calgary in 1980.
